Chance me? I’m nervous

I’m a senior from south central Pennsylvania who just submitted their ED application to Smith.

I have a 4.2245 weighted and a 3.95 unweighted GPA. My SAT score is 1350 with a 630 in math and 720 in English. I have gotten 2 4’s (AP world and psych) and 2 5’s (APUSH and Lang and Comp). I will have taken 8 AP’s by the end of my senior year. My class rank is 20/255.

I have also taken classes at my local university. I took Sociology 101 my junior year and got 100% in the class. This year I took a 300-level polysci class with all college juniors and seniors. My class rank is lower because these classes didn’t count as a weighted class.

I presented my original research at the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education’s statewide women’s conference, where I discussed my findings on women’s access to reproductive health across the state on an hour and a half long panel.

In terms of EC’s, I have been in every production that our drama club has done, I sang in our audition choir all four years of high school, and I’m a senior leader of my marching band’s color guard. I’m treasurer of four organizations (Drama Club, Sharps, Art Honors Society, and Birdwatching Club). I’m also a member of NHS and FHS.

I am applying ED to Smith because I love the school so much. When I interviewed, my interviewer actually got a little misty eyed when I described how much I loved the school. I also did an overnight visit, but I don’t think that they take that into consideration.

I come from a very poor rural community, something I touched on in my Common App essay.

Thanks for your help! I love Smith so much and I just submitted my application last night, so I’m very nervous!

Your app looks a lot like my kid’s! This process is so crazy-making that I don’t think I have the perspective to give you any feedback other than that I hope you’re admitted!

You have a great profile and are certainly qualified. It’s out of your hands now. You’ve done your part and keep up the great work.
