<p>This s an international applying for aid. We need much more info to give any real input.</p>
<p>First, what country are you from? Each of these schools will only take a couple from most countries and what the competition is–does his country send many applicants and many full pay ones–is hugely important.</p>
<p>The second issue will be how much aid he needs. These and all colleges are poor this year and will be giving less of the aid pie to internationals. So if he needs $10K in aid chances are much better than if he needs $40K.</p>
<p>While he might be a reasonable candidate as an American applicant (and I say might because top 20% at most schools around the world would make some of those schools very tough), being an international needing aid is a whole different story.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, I do agree with hmom5. While you have strong test scores, and some ECs, with the recession, colleges are not going to be as generous with money towards internationals. If the schools are not need blind for internationals, that could effect your admission to schools.</p>
