<p>Applying to U of Mich, Ann Arbor, Engineering (I'm a girl) early decision, and I was pretty confident when I applied that I would get in, but now I'm having last minute panic. So people, be brutally honest.
GPA- 3.9 UW, 4.0 W (I only took 1 AP class thru Junior year but I'm in 3 now and have all A's... got a B freshman year, an A minus sophomore year but all solid A's and A+'s Junior year)
ACT- 35
Other: NHS, Varsity Lacrosse, Swim Team, Debate Team, Student Council for 1 year (kind of), plus I lived in France for 5 years and tested out of a bunch of French classes... I'm fluent and stuff so that might be an advantage...?? What I'm worried about is that I don't have leadership in any of the clubs I'm in... And I'm also worried b/c I feel like I don't have any fancy awards... the applications all asked for awards and I was like AHH!

Also applying to U Chicago... I think my essays were really creative (which is one of the most important things for Chicago) I did the non scientific method essay, and I even quoted one of the world's greatest brains, Sponge Bob ;)</p>

<p>I think you are definitely in to those schools. Being a girl applying for engineering and applying early decision will definitely help a lot. U Chicago might be a reach because of your ECs. Good luck though!</p>

<p>I think you have a great shot. Your GPA/test scores are solid, as well as your GPA. Your EC’s could have been better, but applying ED as a female engineering student greatly increases your stock. I can confidently say that you should be accepted. University of Chicago may be a bit of a stretch, but considering the fact that you are committed to Michigan if accepted, it shouldn’t really matter.</p>

<p>Into umich, uchicago maybe 50/50 for u</p>
<p>UChicago might be different this year due to the huge increase in apps, but I’m only speculating. UMich…I know so many people who get in who are much worse applicants than you are. </p>
<p>For scholarships, the lack of ECs and leadership positions might hurt you from getting some specific ones, but I don’t know too much about the details to give you a concrete answer.</p>
