I have also interned at Dairy Queen's in the Virginia area, and I worked at Kumon for 2 years. Also if there are any schools I should be looking into, let me know. I am in state at W&M. Thanks!!!

Bump bump bump

1700 hours of service? is that even possible? LOL. o-o
Anyways, onward, your GPA is pretty high, but unweighted looks not so pretty, but your SAT compensates, but if it was over 2200 it might help you, your extra curriculars are really good, but it’s mainly your grades and scores that might have a problem. SAT subject test? You should take them and score 700+ in case. (:

Thanks! (:

But what would you say my chances are at those schools? And sure

Bump 10char

C’mon peeps!

I’d say you have a pretty good chance at Boston University. I know Rutgers (about 10 down the ranking ladder from BU) would easily accept you. They accept tons of people with much lower SAT scores and much less ECs.

W&M - low reach
BU - match
Northeastern - match
Emory - mid reach
Babson - not so sure

This all depends on how exactly you present yourself… Find something unique to talk about in your college essays…

Thanks! Do you guys think I’m a low reach to W&M, even bein in state? Would if I applied early decision?

William and Mary does seem like a low reach, even if you are in-state. Definitely apply ED if it’s your first choice, it can only increase your chances. Make sure it’s your absolute first choice, though, because if you get in you’ll have to go.
BU and northeastern seems like perfect matches. Emory is a higher match or a low reach.
I don’t know anything about Babson, sorry.
You have a great list so far, you have a reach school that you’ve identified as your top choice, and quite a few matches. I recommend finding a few safety schools (2 or 3) and maybe another reach school or match school if you find ones you’re interested in. You have a great list, and a fantastic chance at many of the schools you’re looking at.
Good luck!!

Thanks so much! My safeties are Kstate, and Arkansas, where I have full rides at both. I will definitely look into seeing if W&M is my favorite school. I wanted to visit the Boston schools before making those decisions though. And I will surely chance back.

Hi! I’m not so familiar with Babson, but you have great business ECs in addition to your other qualifications, so that may help you for a business-y college like Babson. I think you will definitely get into BU and Northeastern. You have a chance at Emory, but you definitely need essays to show what you bring to the table. No one from my school ever applies to W&M, but you’re in state and have good stats, so I think you also have a great chance there! I guess you just have to try to maintain straight-A’s first semester of this year to give your GPA a little boost.

Chance me back? :)

I would agree that W&M is a low reach/high match

So i guess if I really love W&M, I’ll apply ED. And sure! Just post the link on here

Bump bump bump

My cousin had lower stats than you in terms of GPA, test scores, and volunteer hours. He now attends BU. I’m betting you’ll get into that school, but just make sure to write a passionate essay.

Awesome! I’m planning on becoming a national merit finalist so hopefully I’ll get merit aid at BU too

I know a girl who had higher stats than you and was rejected at W&M AND she was instate. It was basically the shocker of college admissions at my school. ED increases your chances significantly. Last year’s ED acceptance was about 50%

Wow! So I really have to decide if I should apply ED or not

I can’t believe W&M is so selective in-state, especially when arguably the best public university is also in Virginia (UVA). Crazy.

Anyway, chance me back cause I chanced you before lol
