Rank is not in the top 10% so you have a low chance.

JHU: High Match

Does rank really matter that much?

For JHU,
Percent in top tenth of high school graduating class: 86%
Percent in top quarter of high school graduating class: 97%

So, I would say being in a top 10% percent matters a lot and can break your application.

I looked up the post from Admissions_Daniel in the JHU forums, and he said that class rank is a very miniscule (he used that word) part of the college app. So with that being said, does it improve my chances?

and my core GPA rank is 83/836

What major are you applying to? BME is much more competitive.

I’m applying undeclared…definitively not BME :p

What rank is on your transcript and/or application?

the hundo :frowning: but then again is class rank really the deciding factor? I know its lower than what I want so i tried to compensate in my ECs

If you could get 2200+ on the SAT, you will have a solid chance at ED.

I am aiming for a 34 which roughly translates to 2260-2300

I think JHU would be a bit of a reach school, but with your ECs I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if you got in (assuming the rest of your app is solid - recs, essays, etc), esp if you get 34+ on the ACT.

You definitely have a solid chance, you have high scores in everything and if you can get that 36 ACT/2200 SAT you will be good to go to JHU! GOOD LUCK!
