Chance Me - I will chance back if you say so

Hey, I am a sophomore at the best public high school in Western Pennsylvania, and I am interested in the field of Pure Math.

College choices:

Princeton (best math school in the nation)

Harvard (basically because I like the Harvard atmosphere and campus)

CalTech

MIT

Dartmouth

NYU

Columbia

UCLA

Brown

Penn

Chicago

SO ASIDE FROM THAT:

GPA: 3.86 UW, 4.11/4.25 weighted last (freshman) year

SAT's last practice test was 2050, but I could definitely get above 2200 next time. I also aced Math section.

AP World History this year, plan to take 8 more AP's and more IB's throughout high school, perhaps earn an IB diploma.

Activities:
State Science Fair-State Champion with a Perfect Score
Cross Country - Varsity
Indoor Track - Junior Varsity
School Newspaper- Section Editor
Published Poet
Forensics (Speech and Debate) - As a Sophomore I have already begun to win tournaments

Math Competitions:
Top in my school in Pennsylvania Math League, and last year I was top of all freshman in the American Mathematics Competition.

I hope to qualify for the AIME this year

Experience:
I have been working in a lab at the University of Pittsburgh on a graduate-level research project about creating diagnostic tests for Tuberculosis (hopefuly MIT and CalTech will like that).

Oh yeah, and I am the teacher’s assistant at an SAT class in my school, and my most important and personal accomplishment:

I founded a charity that gets wheelchairs from wealthier people in the US and sends them to underprivileged and compromised people in Asia.

Race: Indian (Asian Indian)

I really don’t want to be harsh here, but it’s useless to chance you because you’re only a sophomore. Murphy’s Law applies here: even though you “project” a 2200 SAT and 8 AP’s and “hope to qualify” for AIME, those may not happen, They may, but it’s possible they won’t.

Focus this year on keeping your grades up and doing well in your AP classes, and in the spring of next year it’ll be much easier to chance you.

If you keep it up, and get what you’re projecting you will on SATs and such, you’ll have a pretty decent shot at top schools. Such great accomplishments in only your sophomore year combined with your URM status are really great qualifications. Stay focused and keep going at the same pace and see where you are at the end of your junior year.

Chance me if you feel like it.
