Ivys are really tough to chance because after you reach a certain threshold it’s such a crapshoot.
youre ECs are awesome and but are you taking challenging classes (or the highest available classes)

Because your weighted GPA (im assuming its out of the 5.0 scale) is kind of low…

Any Ivy in my opinion is a reach, but I wouldn’t say it’s a waste of your time to apply either.

ps chance me?

Where did you learn to speak chinese??? I have seen many Chance me threads for HYP and top ivys and this application to me looks stellar. A lot of them just have high test scores and seem like robots but this is really well rounded. Bananacream is right though, its pretty unpredictable for Stanford, princeton, and Yale(though you will probably get in to at least one of them.) I think your fine with Brown, and Georgia Tech, and u might even want to add some other top ivy’s to your list. Good luck!

Hey! so i think these are all possible with your stats. But I’d definitely say that Stanford might be tough because I’ve heard where youre from is considered a lot (as in what state). But ivys are reaches for everyone, so I think you have a solid application to be considered. Also, I think you should be fine for georgia tech, its competitive, but with your stats you’ll be fine.

unlike you, i have very ehhhh stats with nothing special, so could you chance me back? thanks! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1683403-how-to-improve-to-get-into-umich-georgia-tech-northeastern-ucsd-and-more.html#latest

Thank you so much for the replies!!!

Bananacream: My course load is pretty challenging, although it is not as difficult as some of the applicants applying to these schools. Thanks for the honest reply; you are right: to get into any ivy would be crazy

thegrant: I attended Chinese school when I was 6 up until I was 12 and learned from my grandparents and mom. Then, I transferred to a school that offers it as a class. Also, for applying to other ivy’s, which ones would you recommend?

frogdragon118: I agree that Stanford is a pretty big reach, but I’ve never heard that what state you are from affects it. Which states have the highest student acceptance rate, besides California?

You’re well qualified for all those schools. Not much more to say, except “good luck” and be sure to have a safety.

What science journal was your work published in?

NHSJS

you’re into any school you want

Sherpa: Thank you! You’re right: there’s not anything I can do except wait and write a stellar essay.
