Chance me I will chance back!!!!!

Hi. I was wondering what you guys think is a good prospective school for me. My ACT is a 33 (33 English, 34 Math, 31 Reading, 32 Science). SAT II are 770 Math 2 for now and 700 Spanish for now. Took multiple AP's but the 3 I took this year (I'm a rising senior) were 5 Microecon, 5 MAcroecon, 4 Euro. I also took a math that is way harder than Calc AB AP and was the only way to take BC the next year. Mostly, AB students consist of drop outs from my math class I took this year and they all get 99's while they couldn't manage a C in this math class. My school is widely regarded and is considered one of the top private institutions in the country. We normally send at least 20% of our students to top schools every year. I will be in Calc BC next year and I want to major in math/econ. My grades are good - I don't know what my GPA is unweighted but it's a 4.0 weighted. I've taken 6 or 7 courses for AP credit and all the others are honors every year. The AP's are US, Human Geo, Mic/Mac, Euro, and that math class. My schools I would love to go to are like Upenn, Duke, Northwestern, schools of that nature and others like rice, wash u, etc. What are some prospective safeties and regular decision opportunities also?? Upenn loves my school and normally admits around at least 10 people from my school every year out of the total 200 students in the grade. For extracurriculars, I am in 3 clubs (business club, math club, and geography club) and I tutor for money/free all the time. I have reliable clientele who i tutor frequently. I also am at a summer program at Wharton currently and have worked at my dad's office for a 6 week period (doctor). Thanks!!!!!

You have great test scores and a decent GPA. You have great Extra curriculars too which is important. I think that you could geti nto Duke and Northwestern if you wrote awesome essays!! Have you considered any of the liberal art colleges? like Williams or Swarthmore? If you want Bussiness Wharton is best.

I think your test scores and ec’s are solid, but your gpa could be better, Wharton is definately a reach for even some of the most qualified applicants, but u have a shot! Duke is a high match and I second liberal arts schools, good luck!

Well having a 4.0 weighted and the hard classes you are taken I would assume your unweighted GPA would be low 3’s which is going to be a stretch for those schools even with a 33 Act which btw is really good. Just apply to the schools you are interested in because you have a shot at pretty much any schools as long as it isnt an Ivy. Good Luck and just try to get that GPA up!

I think that you have a good shot at everywhere you’re applying. You don’t seem to have an outstanding EC but thats ok, you just have to make up for it with your recs & essays. I recommend Wash U as a good match. The others are low to mid reaches. Good luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1176601-chance-me-vandy-duke-ill-chance-back.html

bump!!!

wharton would probably be a reach, but i would definitely recommend applying because you have a shot! duke, northwestern, rice, and wash u are all tough schools but im pretty sure you can be accepted at them! I would just work on being able to show more leadership / involvement within your ECs if possible (I am sure they are more complex than what you have here…but just keep that in mind!) Good luck!

chance back?
