<p>Essays: Great, my sister who takes journalism at Columbia is helping me out.
Letters of Rec: Great, one from math teacher I have had for three years and another from a Biology teacher I have a 100 in the class for. Counselor has like 500 kids to look after so meh.</p>

<p>My grades and test scores have been very good for the past year. Almost got highest GPA for Junior year; screwed up/got screwed Freshman year.</p>

<p>Hmm I’m not too familiar with 6.0 scale but if you only have one B that must be good! Your ACT is a bit low for some of those schools. If you have a chance, try getting it up to 34 or 35. As of now,</p>

<p>His ACT score is not low… he’s at or above the average for every school except maybe caltech, which superscores, and maybe yale.</p>

<p>Does my sister attending Columbia entail some sort of legacy or additional advantage? I figure it couldn’t hurt. I am not applying early anywhere.</p>

<p>ACT is good, retake if you want to increase your chances. Not familiar with the 6 GPA scale but looks strong. For anyone, Yale is going to be a reach but you are a strong applicant. Good luck!</p>

<p>ACT is strong, but retake if you just want almost a shoe-in for a 34 or 35. I would say you’re a match for Rice, and everything else is a very strong possibility. If you were applying to Brown, I would say that would be a match…
Make sure your essays are good, as long as they are fantastic…you should be fine :]</p>

<p>you’ve got a solid act and gpa there, but i think without some super essays and recs duke and columbia will be high reaches for you, soccer stands out by far as your best EC :slight_smile: </p>
