SAT: 1850(670 math, 560 cr, 620 writing)

i go to a competitive public high school in New York.

Please give chance me by telling me if the following schools are reaches, matches, or safeties. Thank you for your help and make sure you leave a link so i can chance you back.

GWU

Northeastern

Colgate(double legacy)

Lehigh

Lafayette

University of Richmond

SUNY Geneseo

American University

Suny Binghamton(legacy)

Muhlenberg

Skidmore College

Syracuse

SUNY Albany

Indiana at Bloomington

University of Hartford

SUNY Oneonta

Personally, I think Northeastern and GWU are the farthest for you, but you still have a chance at all of them. If I were you, I would definitely consider retaking the SAT or trying your luck with the ACT.

I would recommend retaking the SAT, as a score of ~2000 would definitely prove very helpful in admissions. :)

-GWU: mid reach
-Northeastern: mid reach
-Colgate: high reach (less if legacies count for anything here)
-Lehigh: high reach
-Lafayette: high reach
-University of Richmond: mid reach
-SUNY Geneseo: mid reach
-American University: low reach
-SUNY Binghamton: low reach
-Muhlenberg: mid reach
-Skidmore: mid reach
-Syracuse: high match
-SUNY Albany: mid match
-Indiana at Bloomington: mid match
-University of Hartford: safety
-SUNY Oneonta: mid match

Good luck!

i dont see how syracuse is a high match but thank you for your input. and yes, i plan on taking the SAT again and hopefully getting over a 1900.

Lehigh also seems like a reach. I know someone going to Northeastern who was rejected ED from Lehigh. I would apply ED to your top reach in order to increase your chances.

which would you say my top reach is. i know Northeastern only does early action but would you say lehigh or GW is a bigger reach?

-GWU: mid reach
-Northeastern: mid reach
-Colgate: reach
-Lehigh: high reach
-Lafayette: high reach
-University of Richmond: mid reach
-SUNY Geneseo: low reach
-American University: low reach
-SUNY Binghamton: low reach
-Muhlenberg: high match
-Skidmore: mid reach
-Syracuse: high match
-SUNY Albany: mid match
-Indiana at Bloomington: mid match
-University of Hartford: safety
-SUNY Oneonta: mid match

Colgates a safety? Thanks for the input and i will chance u back now

Pretty much agree with everyone else. Will you post on the desicions thread when they come out?

i will but what do you mean you agree with everyone else. there was a couple different opinions. please be specific. thanks!

İ think you have a good shot for all these schools. All the SUNYs are matches. The only kind of hard ones would have to be GW and Lehigh. İ have a cousin in GW ad he got in with a great scholarship with stats lower than yours. Overall, you can get GW and Lehigh if your SAT goes up to 1950, at least. Best of luck. Chance me back? Chance me (I’ll Chance Back!!) JHU, GW, NYU, BU, UVA,UConn, Wake Forest, and Brown

thanks man ill be sure to chance you back

GWU-reach
Northeastern-low reach. Bring the SATS up and it will probably be a high match
Colgate(double legacy)-mid-reach, but I am admittedly not sure
Lehigh -reach
Lafayette-match
University of Richmond-not sure
SUNY Geneseo-match
American University-match
Suny Binghamton(legacy)-low match

  • Muhlenberg-no idea
    Skidmore College-high match
    Syracuse-safety
    SUNY Albany -safety
    Indiana at Bloomington-no idea
    University of Hartford-safety
    SUNY Oneonta-safety
