Chance Me? I will definately 100% chance you back

bumpppppppppp

I agree with Mandalorian. You have impressive APs and scores! You also have excellent awards, but not really focused. I fear the admissions officers don’t get the “oomph” that will make them accept you as one of the e.g. 7%.

Here are my chances:
Dartmouth: Reach
Northwestern: Match
U Penn: Reach
Cornell: High reach
Columbia: High reach
Johns Hopkins: Match
Duke: High match
U Chicago: Match
Brown: High reach

Chance me back, thanks!

My thread (chance pls): http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1610985-chances-for-vanderbilt-unc-nyu-uf-and-duke.html#latest

You have great chances at UCLA and UCB (as well as all the other UCs). The Ivies are tricky, so I think you might get into one out of the many you have listed. As for the other “ivies”-- hard to get into but not really ivies as in NW, JHU, DUKE, and UC-- I think you will get into one of those as well.
As for WUSTL, UIUC, and UMKC-- you will get into all of those, in my opinion.

Best of luck.

Chance me back, please:)

@showmestate700

Honestly your GPAs could be better but your scores and ECs aren’t bad. I think it will be difficult for a few of them because of your GPAs.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1611907-naval-academy.html#latest

GPA is low, so I think you have a decent change at UC’s as well as JHU and WUSTL. The Ivies and Duke and U of Chicago are a bit of a reach. Maybe one will happen?
Chance back:) http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1611990-what-are-my-chances-at-ucla-pomona-early-and-rice-early.html#latest

I think your stats are fine, but it’ll really boil down to your essays and recs, because these schools are so selective and decisions are holistic. It would also help us to know your school’s background and the standard most students there face. Also gg on applying to all ivies except hyp LOL

Very nice all around, I’d say your only true reaches are like duke and cornell. I kind of wish to see more focus to set yourself apart in one specific field although I may be biased on that.

@torusdonut well I have a strong focus in music followed by other things especially in the sciences and math

it seems like we have the same problem (low freshman grades). Your ECs and test scores are solid, and you have a shot at every school you listed. However, the harder schools like UPenn, Columbia, and UChicago are tough for even highly qualified applicants. I think your chances are over 50% at UC Berk, UCLA, Cornell, and Washington. 30-50% chance at the schools in between (Brown, Duke, John Hopkins). Safeties you will get in of course :)

Thanks for the chance! Kinda hard to chance you tho without knowing your major. No point of asking about ivys since they’re always a crap chute. You are a match to high match at Berkeley and LA(assuming l and s application, low reach if engineering) . Upenn is a reach, unless your applying business, in which case it is a super reach(for everyone) . Uiuc is probably a match. Good luck!

I think you stand a pretty good chance. Your with freshman year stats are a little low, but I don’t know which one they take more seriously (with or without freshman year).

@coolkat123 I’d be looking at a major in biology or chemistrt with a double major or minor in math

In my opinion, your test scores and extracurriculars are crazy so I do think you have a chance at most of these universities like Cornell and UCLA, but U Penn and and Columbia are more competitive so I don’t wanna say you’ll get rejected but I just think they’re a lower reach. The problem with your stats would just be that your GPA is a bit low. But hey, you never know if you never try so best of luck to you!! I know someone with a much less solid of an application than yours and they got into Berkeley and Cornell.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1611645-chances-at-ucla-usc-nyu.html#latest

I’ve heard that having a upward trend in grades is viewed more favorably than just straight A’s throughout and your SAT scores are also great so that may take some weight off freshman year. The ECs are good but sorta standard for Columbia and Penn. Maybe you could focus more on a specific passion? Depth not breadth has been said who knows how many times on this forum. Best of luck to you!

Please chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1612759-chance-me-please-will-chance-back.html#latest

@philery my primary passion would be music which is why I got 2 international certificates and was a member of several orchestras. Secondary passion is math/science which explainsmost of the others. Could u chance me per college
