Reflection

Hmmm… To be quite honest your GPA and ACT are low for MSU’s average. Unless your excuse for low grades is very strong (medical or divorce are your best bets (I hope neither of these are the case though!!)), you might not get in. Having said that, your ACT is near the average and definitely within the range. Your ECs are strong and if your essay is strong then that’s another bonus. You’re also in-state which is great. Overall, you’re chances I’d say are somewhat low, but have hope! You never know. If your excuse is very strong, you might legitimately be forgiven for the low GPA.

And worst case scenario, you can still go to Albion or Concordia, both of which are lovely schools!

I was accepted with a 3.1 GPA and a 20 ACT. My GPA was an upward trend though(frosh 2.2, soph 3.4, junior 3.6). I also have a job and 300+ hours of community service. Hope this helps!

@syd1197 when did you apply/ how long did it take you to find out? I applied a little after thanksgiving, and I’m still waiting for a decision
