CHANCE ME if you don't like it when people title threads in all capitals

Demographic info: I'm a white male from North Carolina.

Objective stuff:
SAT 1: 2100 (690 CR, 730 Math, 680 WR)
ACT: still waiting
SAT 2: Math 2: 730, US: 780
GPA unweighted: 3.9
class rank: 9/377 ~ top 2.5%.

School info:
One of the best public high schools in my state-very competitive.

Course load:
I will have taken 12 AP/IB classes by the time I graduate. This equates to a very rigorous course load at my school. I've gotten 4/5 on all of my AP classes so far (taking the IB class this year). I also took an introductory psychology class at Cornell in the summer, which I got an A in.

Extra curricular:
*Moot Court
*Model UN
*Student Human Resources Council
*2 Jewish youth groups, one of which I am co-president of
*founded Psychology club, currently co-president
*NCCJ ambassador
*1 year of varsity wrestling
*NHS-tutoring, etc.
*volunteering stuff
*hundreds of hours of baseball research-(called sabermetrics)-this also includes learning some advanced statistical computer programming and database skills

Awards: AP scholar with distinction, junior marshall (top ten weighted GPA at my school junior year). Some of my baseball research has been published on a fairly prestigious website (I'm definitely the only kid in high school who has articles posted on this stuff).

Recs: Consider these as excellent. Everyone probably says that, but you have no other information to go off of.

Essays: Consider these as excellent. I wrote about some unique stuff (i.e sabermetric stuff)

**Where I'm applying/B:

ED/EA:
Duke (Trinity): 30% (because the ED acceptance rate is 39% and I think I am little below average. I also had an interview yesterday, so I've showed interest.)
UNC CH: 90% (It's pretty easy to get into from my school because I'm instate. UNC CH is way harder to get into out of state)

RD:
Cornell: 50% (I'm a triple legacy)
J-Hopkins: 40%
Emory: 50%

If possible, please chance me by providing a percentage of acceptance. Thanks ahead of time.

I agree with all of your percentages.

EA acceptance at duke is not 39%…more list 28ish

The 39% figure comes from here: [Duke University | Admission Facts and Statistics](http://www.admissionsconsultants.com/college/duke.asp) . The ED acceptance rate is definitely >35% wherever I have looked. I went to an information session and they said 36%.

bump…

bump…

Duke (Trinity): I’d say you’re about right at 30%, meaning reach
UNC CH: In
Cornell: With triple legacy, I’d say match
J-Hopkins: Low match
Emory: Match

Remember to chance back! :)

bump…please. I’ll chance back!

Hey, shock thanks for answering my question

Duke (Trinity): Reach
UNC CH: In
Cornell: High match
J-Hopkins: Match
Emory: Match

Hi! thanks for replying! I can’t say I’m the most knowledgeable in college admissions but here’s my opinion on the couple of colleges I am more familiar with:
Duke: 35% (SAT may be a little low, but solid EC’s. depends mostly on how much of your unique personality shines through in your essays/interview)
Cornell: 60% (which college are you applying to?)
Johns Hopkins: 60%
Good luck!

UNC: in
Duke: mid-reach
Cornell: match
Johns Hopkins: match
Emory: match

duke doesn’t take interest into account when making a decision.

but these are all schools that I can see you in.

write a good essay and you are in to any of them.

triple legacy for cornell… that should help you a lot, I’d say its a low to mid target (depending on which school in cornell)

UNC should be a safety

John Hopkins and Emory should be a match

Sat score is a bit low, GPA is really solid, maybe ur ACT will help :)

your GPA is really good, and your SAT scores are okay for a college like Duke. but you do have some really unique ECs that i believe can really help you! good luck!
