<p>I am a freshman. My college does not have a major in religion and has almost no classes for religions outside Christianity, and I can't study genomics either. Duke is my top choice. I was wondering what my chances of admissions were. Duke accepted just over 5% last year, and I was wondering if I shared any characteristics with the students that were accepted.</p>

<p>High School GPA: 3.96 out of 4.00 (school does not weight)
1st sem GPA at current college: 3.94 (5 A's, 1 A-)
Total College GPA including 1st sem at current college plus community college classes during high school: 3.97

national merit finalist....got uchicago scholarship but didn't enroll (is this appropriate to place on my application?)

-i applied to duke as a hs senior but was not offered admission. (is this appropriate to mention in my application, or will they already have a file?)</p>

<p>You definately have a shot but don’t bank on getting in. Duke is a reach for anybody. Many applicants have the grades, test scores, ecs… etc. The key is to make yourself stand out. Why should Duke choose you as opposed to the other applicant whose Make them feel excited about accepting you. Make yourself a “can’t- miss” applicant.</p>
