alone cross I the boundless blue...

Hope you enjoyed that bit even if just a little ;)

Living/Travel Experiences

Does this help at all? … wasn’t sure, so just to put it in…

Have lived in China, Finland, Indiana, Utah and Massachusetts for at least 2 years in each location; experienced long-term living in over 15 different locations. Traveled to over 10 states in the US, several countries in North Europe and many parts of China.

This summer will travel to Colorado for week-long conference on energy efficiency. Last summer traveled to Skidmore College to study high-school-level chemistry.

Interests

Medicine is a def possibility, and so is law. I’ll have a more firm idea after my intern exp at courthouse this summer, and I’m planning to shadow a doctor, plus do some first aid or EMT training next year. Psychology, teaching (postsecondary) are also possible.

My stance on what I’ll do / where I’ll go

Not sure yet what I’ll major in, tho 100% liberal arts, humanities or sciences are both good. Depending on exp this summer and fall, might apply for 6 o 7 year BS/MD program, eg at Brown.

I’m only looking at schools in New England, in particular Ivies, Little Ivies and other schools with good academics. Prefer rural/suburban to city and small/medium to large.

My list: Dartmouth, MIT, Harvard, Yale, Middlebury, Amherst, Williams, Tufts, BC, Brandeis, Bates, Colby, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Connecticut, Trinity, Hampshire, Wheaton. Certainly not the list I’m applying too (way too many for me), just a prelim.

So, what do you guys think? How are my chances?

Thank you once more for your help,

sphoenixee

you're a great applicant. really impressive. virtually flawless/gpa and scores. you've excelled nationally in math, your passion. and you also have followed through on your interests in law and piano with jobs and activities. and you round it all off with the other things you do. my guess:

In: Dartmouth, Middlebury, Amherst, Williams, Tufts, BC, Brandeis, Bates, Colby, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Connecticut, Trinity, Hampshire, Wheaton.

Who the hell knows, but maybe: Harvard, Yale, MIT

as an asian from MA, you're dealing with the best of the best of the best, though, so who knows.

Thanks, BrownPlease. And oh yes, the Asian from MA thing...too many smart Asians here...

Anyone else care to give chancing me a shot?

Write good essays, and you'll have a good shot at all your schools

True...hopefully, that'll happen. Usually I'm very decent at writing, but I can't seem to get the hang of college essays...most likely because all I ever do are analytical pieces, research papers and poetry. Argh, need to get serious with essay!
