Wow, you have a really extensive extracurricular list! Not sure if that’ll seem like you’re spreading yourself too thin or not, but IMO, keeping up your grades in addition to your extracurriculars is really good! I think you have a shot at all of those schools, but I would aso try to raise your ACT scores by 1 or 2 points if possible. Good luck!

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1531519-vandy-ed.html</a> (Please read comments as well!)

You can’t apply ED to more than 1 school. BTW from the JHU admissions blog, they apparently will be superscoring the ACT this year. In regards to your activities, it is commendable that your team had strong finishes, but I think you’re trying too hard by listing every place the team finished. It would be best to mention that you participated on Bball and only list specific honors such as being captain, all state, etc.

Good ACT and great ECs. The only thing I would be a little worried about is your GPA (it is a little low). As PyschoDad10 said you can only apply ED to one school, so I would recommend applying to JHU ED. As far as your chances:

JHU: High Match/Low Reach
GW: Match
NYU: High Match
BU: Match
UVA: Match(if in state), High Match(if out of state)
UConn: Match
Wake Forest: Match
Brown: Low Reach/Mid Reach

You should get in to at least 5 of those schools. Best of luck!

All matches/high matches. JHU and Brown reach. Make sure u can pick some EC’s out of that laundry list that u are passionate about. Maybe write an essay about one of them.

I think you would get into JHU ED only, but RD also U Conn, BU and possibly/probably NYU and GWU if you show interest. The rest are a #shoot.

Thin your list of ECs out to things that you actually care about.

wow you have been very involved in many different clubs and activities during your highschool career! The gpa isn’t that high, but it is good that you show improvement. Colleges love that. I think jhu is match if you do early decision, but you can only do ED for one school. Anyways, uconn gw and wake forest are match as well.

chance me back :)

Wow I say you have a great shot at Hopkins - the Extracurriculars are nuts fantastic with the Varsity basketball and JV Soccer, and the fact that you founded clubs already demonstrates your leadership. By any chance, have you done any volunteer work or taken the SATs?

Your grades are right on the Hopkins borderline, and I would think with the ECs you would get in. With that said, it never hurts to boost the GPA and it wouldn’t hurt to retake the ACTs in September to try and get a 34+. With that, however, I was under the impression that Hopkins did not accept the ACT. Do they?

Brown I think is a reach for you, but wouldn’t be so much of one if you increased your GPA/ ACT score. Ideally a 3.9 and a 35 would be perfect.

Hopkins is probably is a mid match with your scores the way they are… If you get the scores I mentioned above… I would go so far as to say safety school.

Thank you Kumar9. I really appreciate it! I actually have done volunteer work: Volunteer Work

I know, it’s quite specific :). JHU does accept ACT. This year they are letting applicants superscore if they wish!

Hopkins and Brown are reaches. Everything else i think you are in. good luck!

You should be good in all of them IMO. Brown and Hopkins may be a little bit of a stretch but keep up the grades for the first two months of senior year, and take the ACT or SAT once more and hone in on one thing you could improve.

To OP, if you go to the JHU Admissions blog, there is mention made that JHU is superscoring the ACT this year- I would check with the admissions office.

I think you are in good shape. Keep in mind though that you can apply ED to only 1 school. You have an extensive list of EC’s and I suggest narrowing them down and grouping similar activities together. Brown would be a reach but for other schools you are pretty set.

bump! Please, anymore advice?

WOW! You have a ton of ECs and awards, and volunteering. I think doing ED to JHU and you’re so in! All of those schools seem like matches pretty much, but if JHU is your first choice, I think doing ED to it will definitely get you in. Just try to get your ACT up a little and GPA up as much as possible, but not sure if its too late for that :P.

Chance me back !

Bump!!!

Bump!!!

You have a great shot at all of them as long as your class rank is also good. Test scores and EC’s are very solid.

Okay so ecs are strong but don’t write all of them on your app choose the most meaningful ones that represent your passion. GPa is kind of low, maybe the style of your school. Act is good so overall strong r
