Hi guys! I know I've asked this question before but I didn't get any responses and this is something that's important to me so I figured I'd try again.

Without going into too many specific details, how difficult/feasible do you think it is to transfer from Johns Hopkins to Columbia University as a junior (as in, begin my junior year at Columbia)? Since they're not too different in terms of prestige and selectivity, is it relatively feasible, provided that of course I do well academically while I'm here?

Also, how does the core requirement work in this case? I know Columbia has a set of core classes students are required to take, and since I wouldn't have been there for 2 years, wouldn't this severely hurt me?

Your best luck will be contacting the parents of XYZ school to Columbia or the students themselves who have undergone the same process directly. Most of the readers/lurkers here on CC are first-time first-year students.

– Need 3.5 GPA min
– Transfer to start junior year at Columbia OK, but that’s the last chance
– Need to fulfill all graduation requirements at Columbia, including the Core. Might need to take more than the usual courseload per semester to knock everything out, but there is a limit on how many courses you can take
– Fewer than 10% of transfer applicants admitted. In my time it was more like 50% including Barack Obama.
