Somebody give me an advice:which one should I apply ED---Cornell or Duke (It is likely that Cornell has a crush on Chinese applicants.)

I really want to know more about these two schools, and I know that their own websites might not provide me with sufficient. I love to have some details.

Also, I want to know if I have a chance on Uchicago.

I’d apply ED to whatever one you like the best, but while they are both pretty high ED rates I think Duke has more athletes apply ED, so they are really about the same. I would definitely visit the school before I applied ED though. But if you like Cornell, apply there

I think as a Chinese national you’d probably fit in better at Cornell. Duke is making strides in diversity but there’s still a lot of southerners and I’m just not sure how much you’d like it there.

i agree with the above, cornell seems like a better fit for you. having visited duke, it definitely still has some southern roots, which turns some people off. if you apply there ED you will have a great shot, and you have decent chances at duke and uchicago. i would add a few safety schools to the mix if you want to go to school in the US (just in case), otherwise you’re good to go. good luck! :)

Well, it turns out that I quite like the American Universities, and I have spent lots of time preparing for all kinds of exams. It might not be a good choice for me to change my ideas now.

It looks like you have a great chance for University of Chicago; however, I have heard stories of people with 4.0 gpas, 2200 SATs get rejected, so it may be best for you to apply ED just in case.
