If Columbia doesn't work out...

GPA: 96.1 (Weighted)
SAT I: 2150 (710 W; 740 M; 700 CR)
SAT II: Spanish-800; USH-690 :(
AP Classes Taken: 9 (10th Grade: WH; 11th Grade:BIO,USH,Calc; 12th Grade: Macro and Micro Econ, Lit, US and Comparative Gov, Stat, Spanish)</p>

<p>Awards:
National Hispanic Scholar
Wofford Scholar
National Spanish Honors Society
Principals Honor Roll (Every Year)</p>

<p>EC's:
-Club Soccer (8 years; 12hrs/week 30 weeks/yr) My passion
-Track and Field: 10th 11th and planning on 12th Grade
-XC: 11th and 12th
-Anchor Club: 11th and 12th, Treasurer of the club, helped restart it at my school
-Beta Club: 10th 11th and 12th grade
-Tutoring kids in my neighborhood (Elementary School)
-Mock Trial
-Work: Worked in my Uncles Company, helped manage finances and checked inventory
-Close Up Washington DC: Will participate later on in my senior year
-Helped Start shoe drive at my school for underprivileged kids
-Soccer Referee</p>

Essays: Strongest point of my apps IMO
Rec's: Really good; both teachers know me very well
Counselor Rec: Really good, know my counselor better tahn most students
Ethnic and Race (URM): Hispanic, black, and Native American</p>

<p>id say its a bit of a toss-up. you have very good ECs, but you GPA and SATs are just a liiiitle bit sub-par. with a great essay and some good recs though, id say you have a pretty solid chance of acceptance. you seem to be the average columbia acceptee (harvard is a bit of a stretch though) <a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1219166-chance-cornell-communications-major.html[/url]”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1219166-chance-cornell-communications-major.html&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

<p>You’re a pretty average “Ivy-bound” applicant until you look at your double minority status. I hate to say this, but it really looks like it may set you apart from the thousands of similar applicants. Good luck; you’ve got a great shot at Columbia ED and the others!</p>

<p>Yup, no offense, but you wouldn’t have all the Ivies as match schools in my opinion if you weren’t Hispanic, but you’ve got to take every advantage you get.</p>
