UWA: Reach
U Puget Sound: Low match
Seattle U: Low match
U Portland: Match
Carleton College: Reach
Macalester College: Reach
U Miami: High match

Any other opinions?

bump 10char

I think that University of Miami gets so many applications for Miami area students it may put you behind the eight ball. I believe the fact that your other schools are so far from your home state it may work in your favor. I believe the strength of your essay wil make puget and seattle more feasible.

Im sorry I dont know much about the rest of those schools, but

UWA- Reach
USeattle- Match/low Match
Umiami - Low Match

Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1408369-chances-jhu-columbia-brown-ect-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Cindysellsindy noticed that I am in fact from FL and like she said perhaps it will help me in my Midwest/Pacific Northwest college selections. Anyone else who can add input to that?

I’m also multiethnic (White/African American) and pretty confident that I have amazing and memorable essays.

I don’t know if any of this information raises my chances?

Thanks for the input guys!

bump! ANY input/advice would be highly appreciated!

For the most part, I agree with Catria. However, I believe that UWA is a mid to high match, but not a reach. It had an acceptance rate of 58% in 2011, so I believe you can get into it, especially considering you are a URM. In addition, you have clearly taken a difficult course load and have an acceptable amount of EC’s.

Best of luck! If you don’t mind, I’d appreciate a chance back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1394691-chances-selective-universities-thanks.html</a> . Thanks :)

Wow, thanks! I’m hoping you’re right about being a URM because UW is my dream school.
And I just chanced you back :)

Dunno much about the west coast but I would say low reach and Carleton and match at Miami.

Chance me!

IMO You’re in at all of them except for

UMiami: A bit interesting. If you portray yourself well, I think you’ll be in

Macalester: A low Reach

As for the rest, you should be good!

impressive, SAT a bit low, but the 700hrs community service really stood out for me, chance me back?

UWA is a high match if you can pay full freight.

Your community service hours are fantastic! If you haven’t written your personal statement yet, I’d choose a topic related to your community service. It’d be a great way to draw attention to it!
In my opinion, you have a good chance of getting into all of these schools. Your standardized test scores could be a bit better. Just make sure you present yourself well in the essays, and you should be fine!
Your GPA could also be an important factor (I don’t think you have it listed), but you’ve taken difficult classes, so I’m sure that will be taken into account.

btw, can you chance me back? thanks :)

Low reaches at Carleton and Macalester? Really?! How so?

I’ve already written my personal statement. It’s a very unique experience that I’m almost positive not many people will have though it isn’t about my community service. It’s very personal and I worked on it for around 6 months, I think it’s the selling point of my application. For UW I will be using a few community service projects for my Journal of Activities.

If admitted I am guaranteed 100% tuition. Would that hurt me because they want someone else’s money?

Not sure what they consider a high income? One parent is unemployed, the other makes between $60,000-$80,000. How does that look to them?

It is listed, but it is very low.

I’ve chanced back everyone who had a thread!

University of Washington - Seattle: High match if you can pay for everything because they need money!
University of Puget Sound- I’d say this is borderline low match/match, you’ll probably be in
Seattle University- Same with Puget Sound
University of Portland-Not sure
Carleton College-Not sure
Macalester College-Reach
University of Miami- Borderline low reach/high match. Heavily depends on what your new act score will be!

Chance me back!
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1406249-long-list-chances-d.html</a></p>

Will UW base whether or not I can pay the tuition in full based on the income I listed on the app?
