I am a junior. My unweighted gpa is a 3.5. Ive taken the SAT and scored but a 2270, but Im sure I can do better. I've taken four subject tests Math I,II, Bio E, and spanish and I've scored above a 750 in all 4. i volunteer at the animal shelter and at the greater boston food bank. Also, ive started the oxfam and DECA clubs at my highschool. i am also the chief Marketing officer of a small gaming studio. NaBrO Studios. Im on debate team and play both varsity tennis and xc. Also, I have my second degree black belt in 2 types of martial arts. Lastly(i know im going on but i want this to be accurate), Im part of an organization called youth lead and i have faciliated many workshops pertaining to effective dialogue.
Here is my list(and it appears daunting, but id appreciate some feedback as well as additons):
UC Berkely
carnegie mellon
cornell
johns hopkins
mcgill
northwestern
tufts
vanderbuilt
wesleyan
washington university in St Louis
Oxford

please, bump guys

No one can ever really give you an accurate chance for such good schools, but studying general trends, I will chance you. However, take whatever I say with a grain of salt because only the ADs at the schools will decide if you get in or not.

If you could add weighted gpa, class rank, and majors that’d also help.

Berkely- Mid Reach
CM- Low Reach
Cornell- Mid Reach
JHU- Low Reach
Mcgill- No idea, never heard of it
Northwestern- Low Reach
Tufts- High Match
Vanderbilt- Mid Reach
Wesleyan- Again, don’t know
WUSL- High Reach
Oxford- Such a High Reach, I wouldn’t even bother applying (no offense)

weighted 3.9 but ill get it into the 4’s this year with senior year, major probably engineering

Yeah. really focus on bringing it up. Also, try to do some ECs that are STEM related so that colleges can see your interest.

bump guys please haha

Chance me if you want?

I don’t know if location matters, but Georgia Tech and Emory are two of the best engineering schools in the country. And they’re somewhat easier to get into.

Your GPA is it a little bit low for a lot of the schools, although you have not made any mention as to how competitive your high school is and where you rank within your own class. It is possible that a 3.5 GPA at your school may be in the upper 5% of the class. You do have time to improve your GPA, especially if you’re just beginning your junior year.

Now if you are considering engineering, I would also strongly recommend considering the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign (full disclosure- this is my alma mater, although I did not study engineering) and the University of Michigan, which have better engineering schools than all of the other schools that you listed. However, be warned that the University of Michigan really puts a lot of emphasis in the GPA. Stanford and MIT are at the top, and as most everyone knows, these schools are extremely competitive.

my school is very competetive. I am in the top 15% of my class. We are a blue ribbon school, and colleges acknowledge(according to my guidance counselor)that my school makes it exceptionally diffuclt for students to do well

UC Berkely- mid reach
carnegie mellon- mid reach
cornell- mid reach
johns hopkins- mid reach
mcgill- idk
northwestern- high/mid reach
tufts- idk
vanderbilt- idk
wesleyan- idk again
washington university in St Louis- idk
Oxford- high reach
sorry, i don’t think that was much help but i tried haha. your ecs are good, but your gpa is probably a little low
chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1535730-chances-getting-into-schools.html

Your GPA seems bit low for the top schools but I think you have a strong case in all other areas so the GPA might get overlooked. And personally, I wouldn’t waste my time on another SAT try if I’ve gotten 2250+ already. So, here are your chances according to me:
UC Berkely - High Reach
carnegie mellon - High Match
cornell - High Reach
johns hopkins - Low Reach
mcgill - High Match
northwestern - Low Reach
tufts - Reach
vanderbuilt - High Match
wesleyan - High Match
washington university in St Louis - High Match
Oxford - High Reach

Your GPA is low while your class rank is not too high. That may hinder you from getting into some of these top schools.

agree to both the past 2 posts above

you will have to fight a little to get into consideration with grades. SAT you’re fine; no one cares the difference between a 2270 and a 2350 anyhow.

to be honest your extracurriculars are not that focused on STEM… unless you’re doing game programming or something. to show that you’re interested in engineering. As it stands now, you’re shaky on those

now on the ones I know about!
UC BERKELEY - reach (out of state), low reach (in state)
carnegie mellon - low-mid reach
cornell - low-mid reach
johns hopkins - reach
mcgill - match
northwestern - low reach
tufts - low reach
vanderbILT - reach
wesleyan - low reach
washington university in St Louis - low-mid reach
Oxford
