NYU is a far, far reach for you.

what about this?

10% had h.s. GPA between 3.0 and 3.24

1% had h.s. GPA between 2.5 and 2.99

Those numbers are slightly skewed because Tisch(arts school) students can get away with slightly lower gpa’s than others since there audition/portfolio is heavily taken into consideration.

Since you want to study econ/business you would apply to the college of arts and sciences or Stern School of Business. Your GPA is low for both and your sat score of 1040(math+cr) is also below both school’s average.
For comparison here are the SAT averages for both:
Stern:1445
CAS:1350-1400 (Not really sure)

Study hard if you can raise your math/cr to 1300+ to have a decent shot and don’t be afraid to apply, anything’s possible.

NYU CAS: High Reach
NYU Stern: Higher Reach
NYU LSP: Reach

not going to happen. I’d try to transfer in after a year or two at a CC or state school.
