Hey all,

I applied to Yale in the Restrictive Early Action program, and now I just have to sit and wait until December 15 and it is KILLING ME. I really feel like I have a good chance of acceptance, but what do you think?

GPA: 92.96/100.00 UW at an admission-only public magnet school; all honors; one AP class (the only one available to me)
SATS: 2120 composite (740 V/ 640 M/ 742 W) first try (2nd in November); 730 Lit II; waiting on US History.

I've been elected class president for four years in a row, and have lead some pretty cool stuff: we took the first student-run class field trip in years, and have raised more money than the majority of the classes to come through my school. My principal personally wrote my guidance counselor recommendation.

I'm a classically trained pianist, have been for 15+ years, and I taught myself to play the guitar as well. I also play the saxophone and the flute, and I sing and write as well. I sent three musical pieces (one original song, one classical piece, and one jazz piece) with my application.

I've been a Girl Scout for as long as I can remember, and I have my Gold and Silver Awards. I also have integrated my music and community service to do things like perform at elderly homes, banquets, etc. My supplementary recommendation is from the CEO of my regional Girl Scout area.

As a member of SkillsUSA, I have earned two state medals (one silver, one bronze) and went on to win the bronze medal at the national skills leadership conference in 2009. I also have a silver medal from TSA state competition.

Honest to goodness, I really don't mean to 'toot my own horn' when I say this, but I wrote really fantastic essays, and my teacher recommendations are pretty bangin'.

So what do you think? I know my SAT scores are low, but I'm really hoping that my 'real person' appeal will overcome the kids with 4.fivemillion GPAs, extensive ping-pong championship titles, and 2400 SATs. You tell me. I'll chance you back!

Thanks (:
