Chance me, I'll chance you back :D

Hello, I'll be applying to Andover, Exeter, and Lawrenceville this year (for 9th) and would like to gauge my chances. (:

Grades/ Stats:

Grades: A-range
SSATS: Aiming for 95th percentile + overall
School: Medium-sized public, top 10 in state
Race: Asian American
FA: None

Extra-Curriculars

I'm a very intellectually/artistically curious person, but I've unfortunately never had a chance to really branch out and get involved in much more where I currently am yet. (NJ--budget cuts) I guess this is part of what I'm looking for in boarding school! Haha.

Creative Writing - This is a large passion of mine, and what I believe is the crux of my application. I've received state-level awards and am aiming for regional publications this year. I often write fiction and also on philosophy, spirituality, and social issues. I'll be sending in a portfolio. I'm very inspired by travel and culture.

Chinese - Published in national and regional newspapers, school-level awards

Figure Skating - Up to Freestyle 3. Quit but since then has done many sports like swimming, tennis, etc. but mostly for fitness purposes, not outstanding in any of them

Go - Interested in starting a Go club at boarding school in conjunction with the chess club to recognize the game's educational potential. Contributer to yearbook of it's national organization.

Photography/Other arts - I really enjoy this and hope to experiment more with artistic photography than I've done so far at bs. My t-shirt design was a finalist in a competition for a medium-sized non-profit organization.

Peer leaders (community service)
Newspaper

Also: Graduated top in grade elementary school

Subjective:

Essays: Probably unique
Recs: English one might paint an interesting picture of me as a person, so that will probably be above average, math one just good but not great.
Interview: I'm a good speaker

That being said...chance me and I'll chance you back. (((: Tell me what I need to work on/brush up on.

Looks like you have a better chance than me (: The only thing I would suggest is take something out of the things you listed above that you enjoy/excel at really play it up. I mean put it on a gold pedestal for the world to see. Other than that you seem really well-rounded.

*enjoy/excel at and really play it up

You look like you have a pretty good chance. The only thing that worries me is you have no competitive sports. But, since you are practically perfect otherwise, you look like you stand a chance. Hopefully your interview will go well!

What is FA?

Chance me: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-chances/1015130-prep-school-merit-scholarship.html?highlight=interview

I think you habe a good chance as well, but maybe look at a couple more schools that are still the best but maybe has a higher acceptance rate. Choate?

Yes I think you have a good chance at these schools but as donor11 said I think you should think about applying to Choate Rosemary Hall in Connecticut, I think you would like it there. Chance me at- What are my chances for Choate and Hopkins?

You seem like you have a good chance. I’d play up that you did figure skating, I’m not sure how advanced Freestyle 3 is, but definitely mention it.
