I have no idea how important an essay is but I will try my best to write a good one.
I plan to apply to the science majors of these schools (It's a long list)

Your SAT scores are really good! That would help you with your acceptance into, say Boston College, U virginia, etc. For the high-end ones like Duke, etc. you should do something more, like some really good extacurriculars or volunteering. Try to get involved in more school-oriented things, like NHS or some sport (I’m going to do ping pong lol not really a sports kind of person)

What did you get on your SAT I? That makes a pretty big difference as well.
And I don’t see Harvard, Yale, Princeton on the list? I’ve seen a lot of people who got completely REJECTED from Columbia and accepted at Yale! Or even rejected from Yale and accepted at Harvard! There’s no harm, and apply for financial aid if you don’t have the money!

Your SAT scores are great, try to gather lots of awards, and EC’s. Your on the right track!

I am absolutely envious of your ACT score.
I’ve only really looked at in-state schools, except for University of Miami, but that’s not on your list.
I think you have a good chance at the top tier UC schools on your list, and a very good chance at the others :). Your GPA is a little low, but your senior year seems very strong and your scores are very good :)

my honest opinion is to just save ur money and go to UCB or UCLA, cause I’m sure you will get into at least one, if not both of them. But I think you have a decent shot at all but Penn, Stanford, Cornell, and Duke. You can never be sure about these colleges

Your stats are definitely good, especially your SAT II and ACT scores. I would say you have a good chance at all of these if you can play up your ECs and write an awesome essay. Also, I was wondering why you weren’t applying to CalTech if you’ve already won an award from them and you’re interested in science?

In response to your question about the essays, they are very important for most if not all of the school on your list (ESPECIALLY UChicago). For that reason, you may want to reconsider applying to ALL those schools, because that would be a lot of essays to write.

That being said, I think you’re pretty safe with your list, you should be in for most of those schools. You have very impressive stats, including your GPA.
