**I know my SAT subject test scores are absolutely terrible, so feel free to comment on how bad they are. Thank you very much.

Other schools I'm applying to: other Ivies (e.g. Dartmouth, Brown), Johns Hopkins, and Stanford

I think your research thing is pretty cool! I’m from Canada too =) and no one I know ever does research or is ALLOWED to volunteer at hospitals lol.

You have very high SAT scores, decent ECs. I think you are a low reach at Cornell. It also helps I think that you are international and asian. Best of luck! and if you get a chance can you chance me? :)

@Fatum: thanks! I really enjoy it I wrote about it for the short Common App essay on an extracurricular activity hehe. It’s strange that people aren’t allowed to volunteer at hospitals. Here in the GTA (Great Toronto Area, if you didn’t happen to know), you are allowed.

@cuppycake: Thank you. I don’t consider my SAT Reasoning high, it’s about average for Ivies I think. My SAT IIs are soo horrible that’s what I’m most worried about. I like my ECs because I actually love every single one of them-I’m not the type to just join random clubs to pad my resume. I will def chance you later!

Anymore chancers out there? you know you want to chance me. You know you do.

well, I’m taking bio this saturday (not expecting much though, sadly). I sent my score verification form in, so now I’m waiting for a response. Judging from what other people have said about how many they omitted/got wrong on Math II, there is NO way I could’ve gotten 640. When the results are mailed to me and it turns out that this was just a big mistake and I actually got higher than that, I will not retake. However, if the score stays the same, I will probably retake Math II in January!

If I take SAT IIs in Jan, should I make note of this on the Common App? If so, where?

^ I know, but I thought all canadians had to take French at school since they have one French speaking state. Even if they do not, it makes sense that canadians would be more inclined to learn french for the same reason.

We only have to take French in Gr. 9. After that, you’re not required to. Actually, not a lot of Canadians outside of Quebec speak French and not many people know even the basics like “hello” (bonjour) or “how are you” (comment ca va?). It’s also strange that a lot of people in Quebec speak English!

Anyways, we have digressed from the purpose of this thread, which is to chance me anyone want to chance me please?

Sorry if sound harsh but I don’t think you stand a chance at Stanford Harvard or Brown… An international asian with not even 700s on the subject tests, I would call unqualified.

Cornell and Dartmouth are big reaches but probably worth applying to.

Hey. Forget the chance threads. I’m an Asian female from Canada too, with pretty similar activities to you, applying to alot of the same schools. It’s a crapshoot. Even if you had a 2400 and strings of 800s and cured cancer at the age of 2, it’d still be a crapshoot.

So don’t worry about it. Nothing in your profile would get you rejected. Just apply. Best of luck.
