Chance me, I'm a sophomore in high school

Freshman year:
I got 2 C's and failed my algebra I final.

I got a 2.9 GPA (Weighted I think)

Never had D's or F's in any of my grades except that 1 F on my Algebra I final.

Sophomore year (so far)
World History: 90
French I: 93
Intermediate algebra ii: 86
CP biology: 86
English II: 87
Pre-AP Spanish II: 81

Ok so this my plan for my yearly grades this year:
World History: 96
French I: 95
Intermediate algebra ii: 93
CP biology: 90
English II: 95
Pre-AP Spanish II: 90

There is no AP world history class offered at my school however I'm taking the AP final at the end of the year and studying for this final independently over the year.

I'm taking the following AP's over my last 2 years of high school;":
AP world history
AP Spanish (lang.)
AP French (lang.)
AP English (lang.)
AP european history
AP US history
AP computer science

I'm taking algebra 2 trig over the summer between my junior and senior year so I'll be taking pre-calculus my senior year.

My goal for the SAT is a 2200, i don't have my PSAT score from the test I took last month yet.

I do extra-curriculars like running, programming, summer job, member of MUN and international club.

I plan on focusing on being more of a leader next year and my senior year by running for a class officer position in student council and trying to be apart of nhs while in school.

I'm striving to get my gpa to a 3.6-3.9. I prefer a 3.8 or 3.9 though.

I'm planning on learning Arabic independently as well because I find Arabic language interesting.

Ok I want to go to Harvard, McGill, Southern California, or Stanford. Do I have a chance at any of these schools preferably Harvard and McGill? Thank you! :)

I’m thinking about finding ways of making my high school a better and more enjoyable place to learn.

Also I’m going to join more clubs and try to obtain a larger role of leadership.

I go to a private school if that helps

shut the f*** up and study hard bro. you have much time left to improve. stop wasting your time in this forum(im dead serious).

Alright I will study hard.

I do feel like I am stressing over this and I don’t want too.

But I will study hard. I was just wondering if I killed my chances already.

you are too early to kill your chances already bro.

Alright that’s awesome.

Thanks!

yeah right. im in my junior year. and will be applying next year.

Good luck

You looking at any schools I mentioned?

well im looking forward to applying to harvard , caltech, MIT, princeton, yale and stuff.

Nice, going to school in Cali would be awesome.

There are some schools–Princeton is one, can’t remember any others–that recalculate your GPA sans freshman year. Food for thought.

@akashdip, you aren’t being very nice…

@moose77, my dad always told me that if you work hard, good things will come. Rather than having your sights set on being able to get into Harvard, just try your best in school and get involved in things you like and the rest will come. You’re much too young to be worrying about getting into college. Please go enjoy high school before the hard years (junior and senior year) come. And don’t come on this website until you’re at least a junior, otherwise you’re just using up your valuable time! Best of luck =)

Does Harvard look at all four years? Do they care if you made mistakes that year like I did?

as i said dont depend too much on the colleges for accepting you. just study and enjoy life. give the colleges a f*** and if you get lucky the ivies would accept you. matter closed.

Alright will do!

And yeah I’ll stop stressing and just work hard :)

working hard could stress you too. dont forget to enjoy life from time to time.

i mean enjoying life is as essential as working hard.

Yeah I know what you mean
