Chance me, I'm an Aussie :)

My first picks are Andover, Exeter, Groton and Deerfield.

Applying for year 11

I'm an international student (from Australia) and would need almost full financial aid.

Academics:
A/A+ average. A+ in most subjects but B's in ethics and PE.
I have numerous school academic awards ranging from class awards to academic colours and double colours (they're the highest academic award presented by my school and place me in the top 5-10% of my grade)
SSATs Aren't offered instate so I will have to take January SATs (what kind of score should I be looking to achieve?)
I also received an academic scholarship to my last school and placed in the top 99th percentile on the critical reading/humanities section of the scholarship testm and within the 90th overall.

Other:
I paint and draw and have won multiple art awards within school.
I have held leadership positions each year for the past 6 years, including Junior School Council President, Vice House Captain, and Co-Editor of the school's annual publication
I volunteer at the special needs school where my mother works (40 ours last year, maybe 20 this year), and was one of 1000 under 26's in Australia chosen to be a part of the Make Poverty History Roadtrip
I can play the violin, viola, piano, and clarinet, but all recreationally, and am currently not taking lessons
I used to do cross country and gymnastics (had to stop due to health) and placed 4th in my XC team. I would like to start again.

Extra info:
I've missed about 2 cumulative years of school due to chronic illness which I am now recovered from, but have managed to maintain my grades for the most part until now. However this year my attendance was appalling and my grades in slipped a little though I still averaged an A in my exams.

Chance me?

you are the average applicant for these days.
average chance.
which means that your essay and interview will make all the difference.
Your FA will just about kill your chances.

bump.
pleaaaaase!

@SnapePotter,
Not really… she (I think you’re a she…?) seems like an unusual applicant and an exceptional one.

@Hannahmang,
Financial aid for international students is very limited. Look closely at most schools Financial aid sections and they will say that Financial aid is primarily for US citizens. However, international students have received Financial aid in the past. But you seem really interesting so you should apply!

Are you sexy? cause boarding schools are for sexy people, like me, jkjk xD

Thanks for your feedback SnapePotter and ifax108 :slight_smile: Oh and, uh, your input too scales1994…

I am indeed a she and I am well aware of the limitations of being an international student applying for aid but its essentially a must as my mum’s a single parent… Doing all I can to limit the amount I need though!

Does anyone else have anything to say, it’d be muchly appreciated!
