I’d say about 60%. Your GPA and ACT are rather low, but your extracurriculars, income bracket, and the fact that you’re West African are probably beneficial factors.
Are you in-state or OOS? UM does not consider ethnicity/URM so that is not going to help you. Can you improve your ACT? It is really low, especially for OOS. Your GPA and EC’s are fine. Which college are you applying to (LSA, eng, nursing etc… that makes a difference too). Are you a US Citizen?
I’m a senior in high school so I can’t really do another ACT! I applied to LSA, and preferred decision to Ross! And yeah, I’m a US citizen, and I have been for a couple years now
Your GPA is fine but your course rigor is not disclosed. Your EC is good but UMich only consider it. Your major weakness is your test score. Act 27 is pretty much out of the admission rangeor for LSA unless you are recruited. In general, ACT under 28 would have a slim chance.
Ross PA is highly unlikely. They are more selective than any of the colleges except Musical Theater & Dance. If you come from an under-represented school district in-state targeted by Michigan that may help you. If you are in-state I hope you applied to MSU or an another backup as well.
Michigan has been implicating they use low income ( which yours is) as a proxy in trying to get URM’s. Give yhat I think you have a decent chance that you wouldn’t if you were from a high income family.
Course rigor: at the moment I’m in AP lit and comp, AP studio art, and AP US gov. Over the course of my four years, I will have 2 honors classes and 7 AP!
I also suffer from having a low ACT score and would love to take another ACT or even the SAT, but it is far too late. Isn’t it? Aren’t the next test dates May and June?
You have an interesting background, so that can help. However, your GPA and ACT must be stronger. You need to finish this academic year on a very high note (all As if possible). Your Try to raise your ACT to 29.
