essays should be amazing..

.004%

Just kidding. I really don’t know what the hell admission committees really look for. It varies from school to school.

the only thing that isnt up to par is your GPA, though you probably go to a tough/ competitive school which colleges in your area may know about

I would ed to Northwestern over CMU

Your list is ridiculously long. I wonder if Whistleblower’s advice about majors also applies to colleges, given that you only capitalized one school (UIUC)…?

I agree that the GPA is an issue.

Keep this in the Chances forum, please. There’s a reason why CC created that forum. And some of the schools you listed don’t even have business colleges (Swarthmore).

Don’t apply to so many schools

He probably copied and pasted UIUC so the capitalization is irrelevant.

^ Oh, well. I guess I’m no help at all today :(

I realize the uw gpa is low, and am honestly worried about all the colleges.
-wasn’t trying to be snobbish, just typed really quick. ed for northwestern if it was engineering too? yes i copied and pasted uiuc, and am not applying to all the schools.

just confused now…

Don’t be surprise if you get rejected by Penn State. Smeal is extremely hard to get into.

During Freshmen Orientation the advisors said something ridiculous like they had lower acceptance rate than some Ivys or something. I don’t remember.

Smeal is easy to get into. The advisors are just being overly proud of their school. On the other hand, Notre Dame should not be a safety.

How is it easy to get into?

Why is Notre Dame in your safties? For business, I heard it was the number one school in the country…unless you’re applying for something else.

^wth is that a joke? notre dame is the #1 business school in america…if u ignore the top 30 business schools that are better than notre dame…

Notre Dame is number one in something, but I can’t remember what it is.

1 in Businessweek undergrad business school rankings.

Notre Dame has the name mainly. Good program but their are better. Also I heard from many students, going to school at Notre Dame is like being in a bubble.

Notes dame’s undergrad b school is well respected. That really shouldn’t be a safety.

1) businessweek is a joke
2) USNews is what schools actually care about
3) nobody in the real world actually cares about ANY rankings. it’s the person they hire, not the school

They may not care about the rankings, but they definitely care about the rep. If I was a business owner I would absolutely care where the person went to school. It matters because it says a lot about how much they push themselves and what kind of ambition and drive they have.
