as said above, i am an incoming junior, and an asain indian male. i guess this might set my apart in a bad way from all the other asain and indian einstiens.... i have a 3.6 unweighted gpa. I do attend one of the top schools in the nation and all my classes were honors/AP except for math and sci.( not sure what i want to be, yet, ill post somthing in a few days for ref.) my UC gpa is a 3.8. Do i have a shot at Berkly or stanford, if i get a 4.0 junior and senior year. i just want to know if i should foucs on doing extracirriculars or if it would be a waste of time if my scores dont make the cut. My First 2 AP test that i took sophmore year, euro and psych, 3 on both. very depressed about psych, expecting higher. can you guys give me some good ideas for extracirriculars... i am kind of new to this college process, and unforunately my gpa took the hit before i noticed. if i do well enough on the sat, do i still have a shot, please help=) thanks CC

To start, you’re only an incoming Junior, you still have time to think about ALL of these things, okay? lol ;)

I would really research the colleges I want to go to, and examine their admission process and what they look for. By doing this, this should really help. Try to get some EC’s in and have some leadership positions if you can. By having leadership positions, you can strengthen your application by a mile. Stanford and Berkeley are NOT easy to get into. For Stanford, your SAT has to be (strongly recommended) 2250+, for Berkeley, I would suggest you would try to aim for at least a 1900 - 2000+. I’m not completely sure, but that’s my best guess-estimate. Good luck with Junior and Senior year lol :)
