Chance me! International student. UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC

Hello! I just finished junior year in the IB DP curriculum. I’m a female international student thinking of applying to UC Berkeley, UCLA and USC for bioengineering.

SAT I: 2200 (700 CR, 700 Writing, 800 Math)
SAT II: 800 Math 2, 710 Physics
GPA (unweighted, not too sure school doesn’t use GPA): 3.8 (3.9 with freshman scores, I screwed sophomore year up)
IB (predicted scores): 41/45. HL Biology (7), HL Chemistry (5), HL Psychology (7), SL English A (6), SL Math (7), SL Mandarin B (7)

Extracurricular

  • Student Council President
  • Basketball (2 years, was the one who created the girl’s club along with a few friends)
  • Campaign, stop dog meat trade (president/creator, spread awareness and charity by doing campaigns and selling merchandises in school and neighbouring schools)
  • Drawing (10+ years of practice, 10k followers on instagram)
  • Held a charity run (president/creator, gathered sponsors and 250+ runners, collected money from selling merchandises and tickets, organiser of the event)

Awards (not much)

  • Silver medal on a nationwide/regional science research competition
  • Best student in math, english and ITGS (sophomore year)
  • Best student in biology and chemistry (junior year)

Volunteer

  • Internship at a lab (2 weeks, did research, not much)
  • Volunteer teaching (2 months, taught underprivileged kids math and english)
  • Planned out activities and donations to orphanages and elderly homes
