<p>I don't really know if I should consider UMichigan a reach or match school and neither do i know anyone that has applied there (I find rankings and admission rates rather misleading when it comes to actual chances) so please chance me.</p>

<p>Obviously, your credentials are really strong/pretty much perfect. Unfortunately, a lot of other HK students will be applying with basically the same transcript. The trick for you will be to make yourself stand out by making it seem like UM is your absolute first choice, as well as to show them that you’re more than a “stereotypical Asian” student. Try to be creative with your essays, apply ASAP, and then after you apply you should send an email to either your admissions counselor or the head of international admissions.</p>
