Full IB Diploma student. Predicted 43-44 in HL Lang Lit, Economics, History, and SL Maths, Bio, Spanish

GPA: 6.9 (all 7s in academic subjects but bad grades in PE lol)

Tentative SAT score: 1560, 800 in math

  • Mentor for middle school MUN, arranged and chaired MS MUN conference at our school

Are you fine with being full pay? The Universities of California (including UCLA and UCB) have very little financial aid for out of state students, which of course includes international students.

I think that you are a competitive applicant but these are definitely not safeties. Perhaps “reasonable reach” might be a guess at your chances.

In terms of “ivies”, I think that it would help you quite a bit if you know the differences between them, and know which top ranked universities would be a good fit for you.

definitely don’t consider them safeties, but I really want to see if I stand a chance! It’s crazy because my IB predicted could take me so many places in the UK. US unis are pretty strange

US unis are inundated with thousands of highly qualified applicants and they look for more than just stats. With acceptance rates in the low single digits they are reaches for everyone especially without legacy or a hook.
