Hey, I’m international too so it’s not appropriate for me to say anything because I don’t know much about these either. I was just wondering where are you from… I mean, you’re 23 and in high school_?

Im from Mexico, i finished highschool back in 2006 lol.
But i decided to take a time to travel around the world, spend a year abroad and whatnot.
So, now that I did what i wanted, Im ready.
I want to commit 100% to school, and although ill keep on travelling to places i missed, it wont be a priority anymore, my mind will be more into learning :D

Where are you from?

That is really, really great. I wish I had courage to do that too, and of course permission. Traveling the world is my dream for a long time, but I’m planning to do that after college.

I’m from Turkey. You should come here too, sometime. Especially Istanbul is a great place to visit.

Oh, and do you think doing those gap years would be bad in admissions? You had a great purpose though. I’m planning to wait one year too, that’s why I’m asking.

These schools are all very different from each other in almost every respect. They are all good schools, but rare indeed would be the student who would feel that they all have the same “fit.”

Hello paukid!
I`m mexican too!. I saw your profile and you ´re unique. When did you take the paa? I took the paa the last year(in 9th grade) and I scored 1420. I think, if you get a good SAT and SAT II you have a good chance.

@Eugenie 93 Hello again lol!. I wento to Istambul, stayed for 3 days though :frowning: But I fell inlove!
I hope the gap years wont make a big difference, though if I get in, I think I will be on the "grannys"club lol.
I would recommend taking a year, on Harvard admissions they advice taking a year off if you are unsure or if you feel like doing something else so you wont end up dropping out.

Through these years I met a lot of people from all over taking a year off!, some people studying a language abroad, some other just travelling, some others clearing up their mind, and so on. I think it is healthy lol. And after all when you go back to school business you are def back because you want to, your mind is more cleared up and no unfinished business up there you know? lol

@Mintwood thanks a lot! I like them all! lol. To which one do you think i fit the best? though I think all of them!
Each of them have a special thing I like, from programs of study to admon, to campus, to student matter, etc.

@Pandasocks hallowie homie! lol. Thanks for the “unique” tag lol. I wish Yale think the same lol. I took it like 4 months ago when my mom wanted me to apply to “UDLAP”, though it wasnt my call, thats why I dindt worry too much on getting fit with books, and I guess I wasnt that bad. Your score is pretty good though!! congrads, when i told people i got the crappy 1320 they told me it wasnt bad at all (of course considering the standards to get into the U’s that offers that test for admissions). Are you in 10th grade? Do you have a choice yet?

thanks a lot everyone!

Yes I´m in 10th grade, and I want to apply 1 or 2 Ivy League and a top Public School.
