Thanks so much for reading! - Happy holidays/Good luck to everyone on CC: all very nice ppl

Fairly typical stats/ECs of a really competitive Ivy applicant

Princeton - High reach
Brown - Low Reach
Upenn (CAS) - Reach
Dartmouth- Low reach

Yale - 40% chance of acceptance
Harvard - High reach
Columbia - Reach
Cornell - Low reach

Penn is not more selective than Brown and Dartmouth. Its less selective.

yeah i thought so as well - more please

Decent chance.

HYP, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell, penn in that order.

Switch Cornell and Penn IMO

I wouldn’t even list the Boys’ State thing because delegates are a dime a dozen to these schools. I’d say that your chances aren’t really better than the others, but not much worse. All of them are reaches… espec. because you’re unhooked.

That’s great that you got through the Princeton Supplement… from what I’ve heard, it’s a beast!

ahah yeah it was obnoxious. i did the wilson quote too which i must say came out really well…

and for some schools i actually kinda do have hooks bc of my aunt’s connections:

  1. Harvard: my aunt’s on the faculty
  2. Penn: my aunt got her phd from here and was the Chief Editor of the magazine
and 3) Brown: my aunt worked here for 9 years and knows tons of ppl

bump10char

how could you say that, emory is a reach…my SATs stink

I hope you have some other, safer schools on your list. You have a reasonable shot at getting in one or more of the Ivies, but it is possible that you wont get in to any of them.

wrong topic

You’re not getting into Princeton (I mean, its prestige can’t possibly dip that much in one year)

Brown, Penn, and Dartmouth are reaches.

But yo, good luck. Btw, I hope you applied to some other top 20 schools like Notre Dame, Northwestern, Georgetown, etc. Those schools are more of a match for you I think.

Unrecruited athletes are a dime a dozen. So are piano players, kids who worked at the local soup kitchen, and straight A students. That doesn’t mean the OP’s EC is automatically worthless.

I would say with your stats, you’ll get into at least 2 or 3 of them =)

Chance mee back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/645152-these-colleges-reach-me.html

I agree 100% w/ Hunt #11 post.

Get some safeties Acceptd. And good luck!
