Chance me (Junior here) for top 3 UCs?

<p>1st post
I'm currently a junior and 1st semester is basically over. During finals week, I screwed up badly on the classes that I had borderline grades in. At this rate, I don't think I have a chance at the top 3 UCs (Berkeley, LA, SD), since it's gotten very competitive over the last couple years. What should I do? All help is appreciated</p>

<p>I think these colleges are a bit of a reach for you, with an SAT of 2040 and especially an average GPA. you should consider looking for matches such as UC Davis, UCSB, UC Irvine, UCSC.</p>

<p>Get mostly A’s in the second semester and a SAT score of 2100+ and you should be a match for UCSD. An upward trend is a big plus, which you dont have right now.</p>

<p>Unless if you are able to get 2300+ and straight A’s in the second semester and work on some strong ECs, Berkeley and UCLA will be reaches.</p>

<p>Can you give me some examples of strong ECs? Like volunteering at the library?</p>
