I do not believe Brown considers religion or sexual orientation to be a hook. I know Brown does not discriminate based on these criteria, but I do not think one religion or another is an advantage. See the Brown Common Data Set.

I do not believe Brown considers it a hook if an applicant is a legacy at Yale.

I am not aware, but I guess I will learn quickly one way or another, that being from an urban area is considered a weakness by the Brown Admissions Office.

As long as your SATs are around 700 for every test (including subject tests), I’ll be surprised to see you rejected. Honestly, the best advice I can give you is to take advantage of your experiences by writing genuine essays.

It really is a crapshoot for most applicants, even those with your qualifications. Your class rank (and probably GPA) easily make you a stronger applicant, but having a 2090 SAT and coming from a wealthy/urban area makes Brown a reach.

And as fenwaypark said, while religion and sexual orientation might be central to your identity as a person, are most certainly NOT hooks for Brown.

Best of luck!
