I am a Wash U legacy (mom) and my brother is currently attending.

Dance Marathon Executive Board Member- (Dance Marathon is a school run chest organization. We pick a charity each year and raise money for that specific charity; last year we raised $93,000.)

One of two student representatives on the “Education Foundation Board”- Various organizations around the district request grants and we vote on them. Individuals also can apply for a grant if they can’t afford something like an orchestra trip.

Counselor rec should be solid, we have a great relationship
AP Physics teacher (recipient of Golden Apple) will also be a good rec, he really liked me
APUSH teacher rec for humanities, we were pretty close, should be good
Extracurricular rec from the Dance Marathon and Mock Trial sponsor (he sponsors both clubs). He got both his BA and MA from Wash U. He will also be my AP Gov teacher. We are quite close, and his will be great. Also a Golden Apple recipient.

Since WUSTL doesn’t super score the ACT, it’s important that we know your highest single sitting in order to chance you more accurately. Solid ECs, GPA, and test scores. Legacy will tip the scales; make sure to demonstrate interest in the school. IMHO, I think you’ll get in. I don’t know anything about Tulane. Sorry.

WUSTL does superscore the ACT:

"For the ACT, Washington University considers your highest section scores across all the test dates that you submit. Each time you submit scores, we will update your record with any new high scores (so-called “Super Scores”). "

I think you have an excellent shot. how involved is your mom in the alumni association? Does she donate?

Great chance. My only recommendation would be to get the ACT up 1 or 2 points.

In that case, I think you’re pretty good to go.
