Hello my grades and test scores aren't that high at all. But I still want to be chanced for U-Mich, Lehigh EDII, and Villanova for computer science

Major: Computer Science
GPA: 3.0 out of 4.0
ACT: 26 Composite:21 (English 21, Reading 27, Math 28, Science 27)
Applying out of state
EC's: Computer science club(President and Creator)
Math Team
Android App development
Volunteer for teaching low income families computer use
Essays: Pretty Good
Recommendation Letters: Excellent
Applying for no financial aid

Your numbers are low so can the rest of your application boost your chances ? Really depends upon the applicant pool & your teacher recs. Apply to some better bets. The fact that you do not need financial aid and, therefore, will be a full pay student should help.

I also have Rutgers, Drexel, Stevens Institute of Technology, Rochester Institute of Technology( Had an interview), and Syracuse(Also had an interview)
Are those some good bets?
Thanks for the response by the way

P.S
My grades are low because of my freshman year but it’s been all upwards since then. from a 2.4 to 3.5s-3.7s

I don’t know about UMich because GPA cutoffs allow them to maintain their high statistics. But your personal experience and affinity for computers should push you over the edge for “B” schools. I’d appreciate a chance back.

If you’re okay with going to a smaller school I’d recommend NJIT. They aren’t too hard to get into and they have one of the best comp sci programs in New Jersey. I think it would definitely be a good safety for you, considering your gpa and act are a bit higher than average (don’t let that make you think it’s crap, because it is a tough school).

Yeah I function better in smaller schools. Thanks for the advice I’ll definitely apply as safety. I don’t like tossing the word “safety school” around that much haha.

UMich is my top choice but I want to apply EDII at Lehigh cause it’s my second choice and the acceptance rate is higher than RD. Idk if i should.
