I've taken during my 3 years: Bio, Chem, Physics, Physiology, Spanish (3 years), English (3 years), World History, AP US History, Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra 2/Trig, AP Calculus AB, PE (2 years), Art 1, Foods 1 (basically home ec).... and am currently taking AP Calc BC(expect a C), AP ES(expect a B), AP Bio(expect a B), English 4(expect a B), Psychology(expect a A), and Econ/Gov(expect a A)

2040 SAT (720 M, 680 W, 640 CR) 700 Math 2 600 History SAT IIs

ummm but it goes down hill from there.... 2.6 GPA! yeah! anyways... ummm what is the best college purely in terms of academics you guys think i have a shot at

If I was you I would go to a CCC and go to a UC after like two years. You won't be able to do much with that GPA but it looks like you could fit at a UC in the future.

I was wondering what the best University i could get into in terms of education... i know this sounds stupid but i mean in terms of the USNews rankings.... like can i get into #90 and below? or something like that?

i just want a feel for how selective of a college would accept me...

i would say u got a pretty good shot at Oregon...

u would have to bump up that SAT score to get into a UC by examination alone because i am pretty sure their minimum GPA is a 3.0 so i dont think UCs are at all an option for u... i had to look into this too cuz my SAT scores are pretty similar and my GPA is a 3.0... i would think u would have a decent shot at a college like Oregon, Arizona State, U of Arizona

so im assuming ur question is like what is the top college on the USNews rankings list that u can get into and what college downward do u have a decent shot at...

since u have no colleges listed other than Oregon if i were u i would try Marquette, CU-Boulder, Drexel and Purdue as reaches... Northeastern as a slight reach... Oregon, Arizona, Loyola in Chicago, and ASU as matches... pick a cal state as a safety...

I tend to overvalue SAT and ACT scores so im guessing the colleges u can get into in terms of USNews are ranked like 100 and worse

In addition to Oregon (which usually likes to see a 2.9, but does accept 90% of applicants, and likes California student appications) and the other schools that Rsmattu suggested (good suggestions, I might add), consider applying to some schools like West Virginia University, University of Kentucky, Temple University, St. Johns University, St. Bonaventure, Oregon State University and the Cal State of your choosing.

I also like the University of Arizona (already mentioned), Weber State, and Auburn University as possibilities.

heh... I was actually looking at a couple of the colleges that rsmattu said. I have quite a few reaches in addition to many of the schools that rsmattu was talking about. Here, I should have done this before, is a list of what colleges I am looking at.

there are a couple im applying to that i like and my mom is making me because even tho i know i cant get in she thinks it won't hurt to apply and she abolished the application limit (yay mom)

Yeah Oregon is looking good. I was also thinking about my chances of transferring into there Honors college when if i go there after a year or so. Anyways I'm going to bump this thread before I go to sleep because I actually was oblivious to the lowness of my GPA until a week ago.

So any help would be helpful, the meaning of the word.

Your scores should be good enough for most CSU, however with the current state budget we don't know exactly where the cutoff "eligibility index" is.

One thing about the CCC, you get a chance to find your passion and raise your grades and transfer to a higher UC, one that you may not get in as a freshman. I heard the UCs don't like junior transfers from other 4 year colleges and they give preferences to the CCC. Good luck in your search.
