I'm currently studying in Ecuador but I want to prepare in another country... I'm even considering taking SAT again, but I'm not sure, yet.

But if I were to apply with those degrees, what would my chances be?

Many views, no opinions :’(

Try to improve your scores because things are a little harder for us, internationals. I don’t know how detrimental will the lack of EC’s be since i don’t know a lot about what the schools you mentioned look for in a candidate, what i know for sure is that your chances increase a lot if you don’t need financial aid. Best of luck to you.

Thanks, and yes, that was my last SAT degree, I just paid for a new one that I will take in november, I hope to increase at least by 1000 points.

I studied french for about two years, english, 6 years, i also participated in a literacy program for the illiterates of my country for about a year… can those be considered EC’s?

Great, if you score 2000+ you should be fine.
Normally an applicant shows leadership, commitment to society and passion through his or her EC’s, so usually they are non-academic activities(except researches, those actually help a lot) that’s why i believe your french and english classes are extracurriculars worth mentioning… but your literacy program does for example.
I want to clarify that i’m not an expert or anything like that, i’m an applicant just like you and i’m giving you my opinion, i hope it is helpful. Good luck.

Thanks man, and how about you guys help me by doing the typical “Reach, match, etc” for the unis list, would be reeallly helpful…

McGill? If you have a major in mind, I’ll chance you for it…

I’m planning to study a major related to computers, probably something like computer science or computer engineering, even software specialized majors.

UToronto: High match (computer science/engineering is one of the more selective)
McGill: Match

Try to raise test scores and write some good essays. URM is a huge help.

What exactly is URM?

Exactly, what is URM?.. and Catria, what about USA uni’s…?

As promised, I’ll complete your chance file.

UBC: Match
Ohio State University: Match
University of Minnesota - Twin Cities: Low match
Pennsylvania State University: Match
University of Pittsburgh: Match
Purdue University: Low match
Illinois UC Campus: Reach (weak ECs)
UC San Diego: Reach (weak SAT)
U of Washington: Reach
Carnegie M U: Reach
Georgia Tech: Reach
U of Texas Austin: High match
North Carolina Chapel Hill: Reach
UC Santa Barbara: High match
UC Davis: Reach
South California U: Reach
University of Maryland: High match
Washington - Saint Louis: Reach

Ok then, I hope I get a better SAT degree :)

Any other recommendations?? bump people bump
