So that pretty much is a high school career. I want to be an engineer.
As far my Gap Year: In the Summer I will do ReBuild NJ. I will be trained and certified in certain construction tasks and then lead groups of volunteers in the effort to build homes for families that lost their homes in Hurricane Sandy.
In the Fall I will do City Year. I will be assigned to a school where I will help students that are in danger of dropping out bridge the “GAP”. I will be a teacher, tutor and mentor to those kids. I hope to really inspire them.

ON to schools. Below is a picture of top Engineering Schools (I literally just looked up top engineering schools on USNEWS and run down the list) that I have entered into Admitster with my stats.
PLEASE tell me if you feel that this is ACCURATE.

I’m sure that the UC Berkeley and UCLA and some others are off, don’t know.
I will be going to Wisconsin and will establish residency so UW Madison is looking good.
I also want you to tell me how I look for UT, UMich, and UIUC and Cornell.
Thank you so much!!!

District GPA mean Weighted GPA.

I’m also thinking of taking the SAT 1 last time.

Bump. Anybody out there?

Bump

Cornell is out of reach. I think UMich and Berkeley are out of reach also. The other ones are a bit more reasonable, but you should probably find some safeties.

Do you believe a higher SAT score might help me with UMich? I’m thinking of taking it again.

Studies show that most people don’t improve much when retaking the SAT unless a decent amount of school has occurred between or you do some serious test-taking preparation that you didn’t do before…so if you are just planning to take it again without going into it with something new, then you are unlikely to improve much if at all. Also, I think your GPA is too low for Michigan, even if you got a 2100 on the SAT.

25th percentile at Michigan is 2140 SAT with a GPA of 3.64 (according to colleges.niche.com). You are below both scores. If you plan to be admitted to a school where you are at the 25th percentile level, then you need a MAJOR hook…recruited athlete, amazing EC or personal story beyond the norm.

Wish I had better news for you, but UMich is a stellar school and tough to get into, and your stats just aren’t quite there…in my opinion. Go ahead and apply if you like…you will only lose the application fee at most…just don’t get your hopes up as far as being admitted.

I like your firmness. Thank you.
