Tennis:
Not so serious about it, I played one year on the JV1 team, then I just continued at several athletic centers, and played some tournaments, but it remains my favorite sport of all time.

Other stuff: Love ultimate frisbee and soccer (probably 2nd and 3rd favorite sports), try to focus on one activity at a time (don't want to get overwhelmed), silk boxers, seafood, romance novels, being outside

You should have a good shot!

GPA is pretty disproportionate with your high ACT score. I think you would maximize your chances by applying to CALS, assuming they have a program that you are genuinely interested in.

^His grades may look low numerically but they put him in the range (top 10%) as he said. I would treat him as a 3.8ish applicant. He has good scores and great ECs, so ED can work out well for him to make up for one possible weakness.

I’m planning on applying to CALS (bioengineering) so I’m guessing I have an okay shot right?
Also, if anyone has any experience with ED financial aid I would love to hear some stuff about it. Being in the 100k income bracket, how much should my parents expect to contribute?

Test scores look great. Your top 10%. EC’s in order. Strong applicant

Psuedo-bump (also some of my own thoughts).
Browsed through the Cornell Class of '16 ED thread. I just loved how the Asians who got rejected say a 3.8 UW GPA is low. I think I beat all of them in terms of low GPA :). But screw that, I’ll show Cornell. I’ll show them that my numbers aren’t going to pull me down.

P.S. I may be writing this in a burst of rage, but I may come back and stare at horror at this post.

The only reason your GPA is acceptable is because you are in the top 10%.
In most cases a 3.8 would be considered low as a 3.8 wouldn’t usually put you in the top 10%.

^^
Uh… Aren’t you Asian? No need to single out a racial group like that. That’s just tacky.

I mean… A 3.8 is actually probably below average for an unhooked applicant and especially someone with an anti-hook. The average incoming GPA is skewed downwards by hooked applicants. There were 4.0 Valedictorians/Salutatorians who were rejected…

Bump10char

You have a good chance ED, above average chance. Wouldn’t be surprised if you get rejected though. Good luck.
