Please tell me WHY you think I will or will not be accepted to a certain school. I'm really eager to know. If you are already in college or have already been accepted to one of these places I'd love to hear your stats if you're willing to share.

UMI: Reach
USC: Reach
UCSB: Match
Syracuse Newhouse: Match

Both GPA and SAT score are below average for UMich (at or below 25%), so it will be a reach for you particularly for oos. Same for USC.

GPA and SAT are a bit low for USC and UMich. Its a reach for those two. UCSD: you have a chance :). Syracuse is a match

I agree with the previous posters. UMich and USC are reaches because of your test scores. The other two schools are matches, in my opinion  Good luck!

I’d say that UMich and USC are reaches as well, but definitely possible. I’d say UCSB and Syracuse Newhouses are matches too, good chance of you getting in to those two.
Chance me back!: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1618410-chance-me-for-indiana-university-ba-md-program-in-iupui.html#latest</a></p>

umich/usc: mid reach
ucsb: match
syracuse: match?

I think UMich and USC are reaches, but reaches are good! I think your essays and recommendations will matter a lot to make you stand out from other applicants. Based on the fact that you are a California resident, I’d call UCSB a match and Cuse a match too. Best of luck!

UMich and USC: reach
UCSB and Syracuse: match

Your chances could improve drastically since you did not apply for financial aid, but I am not sure how much that is considered at all of these schools. It should also help that you live in California.

Michigan - Low reach
USC - High match/Low reach
UCSB - Match
Syracuse - Match

Living in CA would help for Santa Barbara. Your SAT scores are a bit low for UMich and USC, even though you have unique ECs.

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1621409-chance-me-for-ucb-will-chance-back.html#latest</a></p>

I’m sure you will get into Syracuse however the others are probably reaches. But why didn’t you apply for financial aid?

Your SAT is a lil low for Michigan and USC (not sure about UCSB). But if it helps I had low stats and got into Northeastern University, which has an acceptance rate of 30% (USC’s is 20%). I think you have a chance, especially with your APs and ECs (they are better than mine). Also my gpa is a 3.4 UW. NEU and USC admission stats are very alike (almost identical). It may ultimately come down to your essays.

I hope this gives something more concrete to compare to :). USC is my top school too! Message me anytime and we can talk about our nerves & anxieties lol. Good luck!

You have a GREAT shot as UCSB and Syracuse!

USC and Michigan, though, will be tough because of your GPA. Your test scores are “workable”, but your GPA, in my opinion, is the killer. Good luck, though!

@beatsdancer I thought applying for financial aid might hurt my chances for my reach schools. I talked with my parents and we decided not to. Most let schools will let you submit it for sophomore year so if I need to I can then. I’m excited to hear back from USC, though I can already anticipate a decline. I applied to Annenberg for Comm.

Michigan: rejected, USC: rejected, UCSB: waitlisted/rejected , Syracuse: accepted
