Chance me (MIT, CMU, etc.)

So I’m thinking about applying to universities such as MIT, Carnegie Mellon University (School of comp sci, computer engineering and EE, and for the 3rd one mechanical engineering) and UPenn

My unweighted is a 3.81 (yes I know it’s horribly low. I’ve never gotten a C before, just some B’s. I plan to bring it up by getting straight A’s this semester, so by the time apps are due the unweighted should go up to at least a 3.87 or so)

My weighted GPA is done differently here (0.16 per AP, 0.08 per honors) so that won’t be useful

Here are all the IB courses I took:

11th grade

IB English HL (AP Lang - 4 on exam)
IB Physics HL(3 on AP exam)
IB Chem HL(Taking exam this year)
IB Math HL(5 on Calc AB exam)
IB French SL (taking exam this year)
AP US History (5 on exam)
AP Macro (4)
AP Stats (4)

12th

same IB courses.
Extra AP I’m taking is AP Environmental Science.

This year i’ll be taking the physics 2 AP exam, AP Lit, AP Chem, AP French Language, AP Calc BC, AP Environmental Science,

Test scores:
SAT(new) 1430 (I was really really sick that day)

ACT - 35
Math II - 800

I’m taking physics in october

Extracurriculars:

FBLA since 8th grade. Won 1st in district for Computer Game and Simulation programming (java game, I’m doing that again this year), 2nd in district for intro to computer problem solving, 4th in state for intro to computer problem solving, 6th in district for computer problem solving

Mu Alpha Theta
several 1st place precalculus trophies, and I believe 1 3rd place precalc team trophy

6th place math bowl individual precalculus
13th place march regional individual in precalculus

Science Bowl
3rd in Astronomy

I was officer in Mu Alpha Theta for 11th grade

For CMU I’m applying first to the school of engineering to do EE + Comp sci, then for the school of comp scii then finally for mechanical engineering.

I have bad AMC scores and never qualified for AIME, did not make it past F=Ma either.

So how strong of an applicant am I? Do I actually have a reasonable chance into these universities or at least CMU?

Im no expert, but based on what I have read online regarding MIT at least, they dont use scores as the primary way to make or break an application. With that said, your ECs (in my opinion at least) are outstanding, and MIT wants people who are driven, and passionate in what they enjoying doing, and those show potential. Good Luck!
