UPenn: Rejected
NYU Stern, UMich: Unlikely
Good shot at rest

I would say you have good shots at all those schools, even Penn. If I were looking strictly based on your grades, I wouldn't be surprised if you got into all those schools.

However, you don't seem to have any focused, passionate EC, and that looks like it is going to hurt you. You can compensate a little bit for that by tailoring your essays towards developing one of your ECs.

Good shot at Michigan and NYU

Wow a bit contradictory?

bump please

good shot at all- i would say ur a match at all but Wharton...with a 32 you're in at NYU and most likely Mich-- take the act..maybe prep a little bit

do you really have a varsity badminton team??
that's awesome!

I figured Penn was a bit too far of a reach for me. I'm still not really keen on leaving state unless I get a really good offer somewhere.... hm..

Yup our team was first in state two years in a row, but lost it last year. We're training a lot this season to get back up there. And I'm thinking being a state athlete won't look too shabby on my app either ;D

upenn rejected
mich rejected
everything else...maybe probably!

remember it's business for UMich, which i think is 2-3% for incoming freshman of all freshman. that's why i think everyone's giving rejections. if it was another major you would probably get in.

How much will increasing my ACT scores up my chances at the schools... and should I take some SAT II's?

Anyone anyone?

It is getting difficult to predict admissions due to the surge in applications during the past two years. Many posters may not realize how difficult out-of-state admission to UNC is.Emory has become less predictable and is not a sure bet for you. Penn is unlikely as nothing really stands out in your posted profile as a distinguishing passion or achievement. In my opinion, only UIUC & Indiana @ Bloomington are sure admits for you.

UNC: Reach (OOS)
UPenn: Reach
UVA: Reach (OOS)
Emory: Fit
CMU (Carnegie Mellon, right?): Fit
Wash U: Reach
NYU Stern: Fit
UMich: Fit

All others are pretty sure admits.
