I guess…you’re in 75th% (except for that unweighted GPA, but I guess the % rank may help some) and your EC’s are fine (just pick one and write about them or something to show that you were deeply interested beyond the resume/future building aspect) so you have a shot (but I of course don’t know anything…it’s unpredictable). Also, admissions to ECAS will not be based on the fact that you want to go to the b-school. Secondly, don’t rate your own rec. letters. That’s just silly. They may look/are expected to be amazing from an objective standpoint, but then a place like Emory or other elites may find them stereotypical/not particularly special within the context of how they are looking to shape Emory’s environment. It’s not worth rating unless we know how the adcoms will view it, which we don’t. And most of all, it will be viewed in context of many other great applicants. Also, don’t list volunteer hours. Just stick to “I volunteered at these places and it was cool”. 100s or 100+ volunteer hours from students applying to these schools is a dime a dozen. It’s about whether or not you can describe yourself getting something significant from them.

Why Emory? What makes Emory different than any of a ton of other good schools? Why is it a particularly good fit for you and why are you a good fit for us? You can talk about the business school, sure, but also remember that you’re applying to Emory College of Arts and Sciences (or Oxford), not the business school. So, if you mention the business school, how is the first two years in a residential, liberal-arts intensive school going to benefit you?
