Chance Me: MS CS at top institutions (Stanford, UCLA, Berkeley, etc)

Hoping to get an idea of how competitive I am for MSCS. Don’t necessarily need an MSCS, but I’m interested in ML/AI and want to keep options open.

  1. College: T100 US University (UC System), BS CS
  2. GPA: 3.8 / 4
  3. GRE: Haven’t taken, but I believe it isn’t required now for many universities. (If otherwise, should I take it?)
  4. TOEFL: N/A
  5. Experience: 3 SWE Internships (2x FAANG, 1 Big N), 1 ML Internship (World renowned space agency)
  6. Research: None, focused on getting a job in undergrad. Might be a negative in my profile, but hopefully the other stats can make up for it?

With MS, I’m hoping to get into more specialized ML/AI/Systems roles in big tech companies or potentially into my own startup or being involved in one.

Targeting: Stanford, UC Berkeley (MEng), UCLA

Safe (if nothing works out): UCSD
