I think you have a better than 50% chance.

Dickinson loves foreign language and a global experience. You’ve got that.

Your ACT could be your only vulnerability. But, you know that already.

Is money an issue? If not, consider ED.

Your stats look pretty good, a better ACT will help. If you can finish your Girl Scout Gold Award, that would polish your ECs (D is a student at Dickinson and has hers, they definitely liked it in the interview).

i am confused! Why is dickinson your reach? I know people from m school who got in with MUCH lower stats than you. don’t worry. you are definitely going to get in. It is really not your reach. I think that you could apply to cornell and still have a decent shot!

My D is a junior at Dickinson & is going abroad this year. She went to an inner city high school & had a much lower ACT, but graduated #2 in her class. She applied ED and had a great interview. I think the fact that she went to Governor’s school really helped, but that wasn’t a possibility this year. Go for the Girl Scouts Gold award, I am sure that will help. She applied ED, and we are solidly middle-class & I have been very please with her financial aid package (19K per year from the endowment), this year her sister starts college and they REALLY came through for us. So… If you are sure this is the school for you, interview and apply ED. My D certainly didn’t regret it.

You’re aware that Dickinson is SAT/ACT optional, correct?

Also, I agree with Peace please. There have been very few students from my D’s high school
that have applied to Dickinson that haven’t gotten in, although admittedly it is a very good high school.

I think you should feel very positive about your chances. Good luck!
